Registration

You can quickly and easily secure your spot via credit card or paypal here on the website. This is the easiest way for me to take sign ups. Please double check the spelling of your email at checkout, as it will be how I will be in touch ahead of the workshop.

However, if you would like to register with a 50% deposit rather than the full tuition, please get in touch via email.

Dates:

September 11-13, Friday to Sunday. Rain Date September 14th.

Location:

We will be painting in Sandyhook State Park in New Jersey.

Focus

By the end of the workshop, you will have learned what it takes to capture a wave along with the effect of the day. We’ll go over the different color gradients encountered outdoors, wave structure, composition, and closely study the qualities of water.

Supplies

Click here for a full breakdown of my supplies. I would like to stress that it is always important to have a secure set up that is wind resistant, especially on the beach, and a way to transport your wet paintings back home. Alos, don’t forget sunscreen!

Duration and Schedule

This workshop runs for three days.

Each morning starts with a demo from 9 – 12pm. These range from follow along demo’s - where I keep everyone in lock step and breaking down my exact process to each measurement and color mixture - to more traditional lecture or observational demos.

We break for lunch from 12-1pm.

From 1-4pm there is time for individual painting, where we break off and try our own hand at the lessons of the day. I circle around from each student, offering personal advice and suggestions.

Class Size:

Class is limited to 12.

Rain Plan:

Please allow for a rain date of Monday September 14th to serve as a rain date. In case of extremely poor weather or you are unable to make the rain date, refunds will be offered proportional to the time missed.

Accommodation and Travel:

Lodging is handled separately from workshop registration. There are several hotels along the coast south of Sandyhook. Car required. I would advise against using the Ferry from NYC.

Registration, Refund Policy:

There is a 7 day no questions asked refund period intended to allow time to secure travel and accommodations while securing your spot, while the workshop start date is more than 30 days away.
Within 30 days of the workshop, any requests for a refund shall take into account how long there is left until the workshop, whether it was full at the time of cancellation, and whether I am able to fill the spot.
