9x12in, oil on linen mounted to Gatorfoam panel
This was a two session painting. I found the open skies to be challenging for the full breadth of color that I had to capture. It was difficult to understand what was happening beyond the clouds. In the second session of this piece, I decided to forgo all clouds and focus on a clean gradient of color in the sky, along with a subtle glow on the horizon.
