I've also made a number of paintings of Orsanmichele's exterior niches - which are adorned by sculptures from some of the Renaissance's greatest artists - I was allowed to paint inside on several occasions.
One part of the building that always captivated me The exterior arches that were filled in, sometime when the building transitioned into a church.
The weathered stone and rosette design is incredible, and even more so as the sun just starts to peek over and catch the details in raking light.
