9x12in, oil on linen mounted to Gatorfoam panel
For the afternoon, I attempted a cropping of one of the jagged peaks along the lake. I felt I was still warming up, and felt rusty from last year's pieces in the Dolomites. I think I realized I had forgotten to reach for any of my sable brushes, to the detriment of my paintings. As a result, these two have a slightly more planar feeling, for better or worse. As if I was channeling Edgar Payne and his use of flat shaped brushes.
