What lay further on the road was Rosenlaui, with its view of the some of the peaks of the Bernes Alps. It's an iconic view that I had been seeing for some time. A rolling alpine stream through meadows created a picturesque lead-in for any painting.
Despite the cloud cover, the base of the mountains suggested the grandeur of the invisible peaks.
