Kampinos sits right on the edge of Warsaw, and it is mostly sand, pine, and open meadow. I went in expecting to paint forest and ended up in one of the clearings instead.
It was a clean, bright day with real blue in the sky and cumulus building through the afternoon. The sandy track was the only warm note in an otherwise green scene, and it gave the composition something to travel along.
