Painted on the evening of the eclipse, from the same stretch of river as the other sunsets here. It was hard to discern what effect the partial eclipse actually had. It wasn't visible to the naked eye. I consider myself fortunate that there was a sunset at all, sometimes things are just overcast.
It ended up being perfect. A great variety of clouds at varying lengths made it possible to capture a lot of depth. And I had to work fast. It was a larger format than usual for a sunset, and I knew these things go by fast.
