9x12in, oil on linen mounted to Gatorfoam panel
The second to last full day of Chamonix, I managed to talk some of the group into making it up to the top - Aiguille du Midi. We were a little worried about the possible altitude sickness, as it is a rapid ascent to 4000m above sea level. I went up with Kyle first, and we painted side by side, looking eastward to the backlit range. The atmosphere was incredible, and the foreground naturally helped capture the eye and lead it into the distant peaks.
